Director of Development
Head Postgraduate Basketball Coach
Jere Quinn was born and raised in New York City. He attended Archbishop Molloy (an all boys’ high school at the time) in Forest Hills, Queens, and graduated in 1973. He continued his education at Central Connecticut State University and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 1977. He worked for Long Lane School in Middletown, CT, prior to accepting a teaching and postgraduate basketball coaching position in 1978 at St. Thomas More School.
Over the next 40 years, Jere has held a variety of roles at the school. He worked as the Director of Admissions, Director of College Counseling, and was Assistant Headmaster to the founder, Mr. James Fox Hanrahan, Sr., from 1989 to 1997. He has taught a variety of classes in English, History, Mathematics and ESL. He is the founder and director of the Statewide/St. Thomas More Basketball Camp, which opened in 1990. He received his Graduate Degree in Teaching from Sacred Heart University in 1990.
When asked by the Headmaster to direct the Development office, Jere gratefully accepted the position. Jere’s enthusiasm stems not only from what St. Thomas More School has given to him and his family, but also from what he believes STM gives to all its current students and alumni.
Jere Quinn continues to live on campus with his wife of 38 years, Judith. His two sons, Matthew (2000) and Michael (2006) attended the post-graduate program. Matthew is currently the Head of School at STM and Michael is an Assistant Basketball coach at Dartmouth College. His has two daughters. Colleen works for CBS in Hartford and Caitlin is a guidance counselor at Malden High School in Malden, MA. Along with his responsibilities in Development, Jere will continue to coach the post graduate basketball program.
Alumni/Development Administrative Assistant
Sheryl Schnaidt is a life-long resident of Connecticut and graduate of Lyman Memorial High School in Lebanon. She moved to the STM campus in 1983 when she married Richard Schnaidt, an English teacher and future English Department Chairperson. Sheryl began working at St. Thomas More School in 1990 as the registrar and a receptionist in the main office. Later, she began working in the Admission’s Office and eventually the Alumni/Development Office. When Richard Schnaidt passed away in 2009, she moved to the neighboring town of Salem, but continued to work at the school. Sheryl has been organizing golf tournaments, alumni reunions and special events for many years. She also enjoys hearing from alumni and learning about their accomplishments in life. Sheryl especially enjoys hearing Rich’s former students talk about their memories of his class. If you have any updates, suggestions or just want to talk about old times, please contact Sheryl
